Getting the bikes ready

We bought these bikes sight unseen last September from Gearbikes in Glasgow after Neil's extensive research. We then got the bike shop to send us these pictures. They were rental bikes in 2017. 21" frames, 24 gears, disc brakes, rear racks for hanging saddlebags. We have both bought waterproof ORTLEIB saddlebags.

There are many additional items we are mostly bringing from Canada. They include:  Chain lubricant, Clip on bike Shoes, Clip on pedals and spanner, Drink bottle, Drink holder+screws for installation, Front pannier, Gloves – regular and waterproof, Helmet, Lights – Front (Headlamp), Lights – Rear, Lock, Mirror – right side for Scotland, Mudguards (to be put on in Glasgow), Pants – padded, Rain bootees, Repair kit, spare inner tubes, Saddle bag etc!

We will pick them up on Sunday May 13th and then put them on the train to Oban (3 hrs) on Monday morning the 14th. From Oban we take the ferry to Barra on the southern tip of the Outer Hebrides Islands (4 hrs and 56 mins).
